EN47 IS SUPPLIED IN A COLD ROLLED CONDITION AND IS ALSO KNOWN AS CHROME VANADIUM STEEL. IT IS A SPRING STEEL SUPPLIED IN ROLLED CONDITION. EN47 SPRING STEEL IS SUITABLE FOR OIL HARDENING AND TEMPERING.
When hardened EN47 offers excellent toughness and shock resistance which make it a suitable alloy spring
steel for parts exposed to stress, shock and vibration. It is also called as in various standards as
51CrV4 or 50CrV4 or DIN 1.8159 AISI
EN47 spring steel is a high carbon steel containing manganese, silicon, and chromium. This steel is known
for its high strength, good wear resistance, and excellent toughness.
This grade offers good bending and forming properties and is less sensitive to surface decarburisation
while heat treatment it also resists deformation during hardening and tempering. We keep a few thickness
in stock however we can supply for it against a specific request with a minimum order quantity and lead
time for delivery depending on the requirement.
